General Meeting
About this event
You likely garden alongside flower flies (Syrphidae) and have never noticed them. These remarkable little insects are often mistaken for bees, are important pollinators, and include species whose larvae quietly help control aphids. We will join Laura Klahrefrom of Blossom Meadow Farm in Southold NY-- www.blossommeadow.com--for a fascinating look at the surprisingly complex world of flower flies, what she has discovered while creating habitat for them on her organic berry farm, and how gardeners can better welcome them into their own landscapes.
